Review of the film "Clara and the magic dragon" - Dragons for the youngest
Yes, it can be stated that the Ukrainian cinema, although to a certain extent, has taken shape as a whole, but has not become self-sufficient in one way or another. The main contribution so far depends on Goskino, however, independent projects occasionally appear on the market. So, Image Pictures company, together with the UFD distributor, presents the film "Clara and the Magic Dragon" directed by Alexander Klimenko, which was presented at the pre-premiere screening party at the CinemaCity cinema in Kiev. In addition to the entertainment program, viewers could chat with Veronika Lukyanenko, an actress who voiced Klara in the Ukrainian version of animation. Note that the English version will also be released, in fact, it was the basic one, since the tape was created for the international market.
The plot of the tape, its basis and development, are classic - and we understand that all the pros and cons lie in the plane of details. So, in a picturesque place lives a girl Clara, who considers herself a fairy, but still does not know how to conjure and dreams of remembering her past; this does not prevent her from studying and commanding three monkeys. With Alfred's gnome and a psychotherapist raccoon, they go to find the solution to the little dragon that they found near the house, as well as the girl herself; this journey will have a place for pranks, testing, betrayal, and confrontation with the Evil Magician and his henchmen.
We can definitely say that "Clara and the magic Dragon" is a tape for the youngest - up to primary school age. The plot is not particularly overloaded with references (although at first it seemed that there would be much more characters - for example, the composition of monkeys "I don't see, I don't hear, I don't say"), it has a rather long "introductory part", scenes that could take several seconds in general turn into sketches of five- ten minutes. Yes, it is easier for the youngest viewer to perceive a schematic representation of the cheerful throwing of characters than complex layering of Hollywood products, but for an older viewer it is too simple.
It should be noted that, like the same "Ruslan and Lyudmila", the tape was built as a cosmopolitan work, in which little hints at a certain national cultural tradition - not necessarily Ukrainian; we know how wonderful the "Mexican" "Coco" was. Dialogues try to be modern - like, for example, "now you will hold a debate, and then an election" (the result of Clara's proposal to the monkeys, I think you can imagine), and in general significantly enliven perception. The graphics cannot be called detailed, they are closer to the morning animated series for children - although in general it is acceptable for a children's cartoon, and honestly - they do not strain the nervous system of a small viewer.
About the output. "Clara and the magic dragon" there are not enough stars from the sky, some interesting ideas remained in the background in it (dragons that give the world life and a riot of colors), however, as animation for the youngest - quite at an acceptable level. https://jamsport.org/table/
