You will get the first information about this assignment by reading a note on the bulletin board in Oxenfurt (M8,2). To get more information, you should go to a small mercenary camp east of the city (M8,4). There you should find Hans from Sidaris and talk to him about the contract. The monster abducted two of his colleagues. Unfortunately, it will not help you determine which monster you will have to deal with. But you can bargain for the best reward. Hans has to settle for 330 gold.

Go to the marker and follow the path that will lead you to the monster's nest.

After signing the contract, he will tell you to look for footprints about 200 meters east of the camp. Go to the center of the mark, there you will find the blood mark and the body that needs to be examined. Follow the trail and you will find the severed hand. This will tell you that the monster is flying. Next to the hand you will find a path to follow. After a while, the trail will disappear. From now on, you have to follow the birds.

Use your witcher senses and look at them. Birds will be marked in red. Follow them. After about 50 meters, you will enter the nest of a large griffin - Opinicus. If you get closer, the enemy will see you and attack you.

Use the crossbow to knock the enemy to the ground.

During the battle, try to avoid enemy attacks and use the Quen sign to avoid taking damage. When the griffin is in the air, you can try to hit it with a crossbow. It is best to use exploding bolts for this, as they will not only bring the monster to the ground, but also cause additional damage to it. Try to attack the griffin from the back. Since Opinicus regularly returns to the air, the battle may take some time.
