The choice of methods of influence is the basis of effective management!
A manager is, first of all, a person endowed with a certain power and authority, responsible for the effectiveness of the work of subordinates and the success of the organization as a whole.
The manager himself is free to choose the methods of influence that seem to him the most suitable for controlling the work collective. But the position obliges to come to terms with the role of a psychologist-practitioner, even at an intuitive level, catching the slightest, most subtle fluctuations and moods in the team, affecting all its activities. Possess a deep understanding of human nature, have an idea of psychological types, types of temperament. Have insight and observation. Analyze the behavior of subordinates and, in a specific situation, use the above information about a person when choosing a management method.
The whole variety of these methods is divided, first of all, into 2 groups: emotional and intellectual influence. Emotional means include imitation and "infection", and all the others, respectively, belong to the rational group of techniques.
Imitation is characterized by the assimilation of mannerisms, automatic adoption of the way of action and even the thinking of another. And "infection" is also an unconscious assimilation of the internal emotional state of the subject. More often it has a positively colored character.
The influence of suggestion implies an uncritical perception of the words and actions of the leader at the expense of his personal qualities – deserved authority in the eyes of a subordinate. Or, for example, charisma.
The request is based on a non–coercive motivating motive. The basis for it is often the benevolence and positive attitude of the employee, which the manager often counts on. That is, it is effective when a good relationship is built between the boss and the subordinate.
And such methods as threats or bribes are ineffective, since they work for a short time and often form a negative attitude that manifests itself in the future.
Orders are a type of formal order, usually documented, which does not take into account the wishes and will of the performer. It is executed without question and without alternatives.
